A SHORT BUT INTENSE HISTORY OF THE ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKIE FESTIVAL IN KIELCE
Świętokrzyskie Chess Festival - 2022
The history of the Świętokrzyskie Chess Festival began in 2022. Then, in the sports hall of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center in Zagnańsk near Kielce, the first edition of the largest chess event in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship took place. It was attended by ………….. chess players, including 20 IM and 20 something in two round-robin tournaments. The patronage of the festival is provided by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
Enea Świętokrzyskie Chess Festival - 2023
A lot of progress has been made in just one year. From the sports hall, the festival moved to the 3-star Grafit Hotel on the outskirts of Kielce, and, as can be seen from the name, one of the State Treasury companies became the Title Sponsor. A total of 242 players played in the 2nd edition – in A and B tournaments and in blitz. Similarly to Zagnańsk, the Honorary Patronage of the festival was taken by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
Świętokrzyskie Chess Festival - 2024
The third festival will certainly beat the previous one in terms of location – it will be held in the largest business hotel in Kielce. At the Grand Hotel**** we have several rooms at our disposal that can accommodate from 20 to 300 people. The fact that we moved from a sports hall to an exclusive, 4-star hotel in the center of Kielce within 2 years was due to the growing interest in this form of competition every year. We are almost sure that we will see each other at the Grand Hotel**** every year.
